Feltsville was a small Anthracite coal mining town in Northeastern Pennsylvania near Scranton. Maps of 1873 show it as a town in Luzerne County. It eventually merged with Taylorville, and Rendham into Taylor Borough
In the mid 1900s it was called "Felt's Patch" as one of the many coal mining "patches" that dotted NE PA and much of the rest of the state. It is this timeframe that many who are alive in 2010 can still recall and thus much of the content will come from this era.
In the early-mid 1900s, it was populated by poor, hard working immigrants, mostly from Eastern Europe. This site is intended to capture some of the information about this area for those who seek historical perspective.
The webmaster seeks quality information and photographs that help to broaden the understanding of this little village in a village. Things that can help are pictures, information, anecdotes, links, and documents. The topics can be about the place, those who lived and died there or those who left for other places but still return in their minds.
This will be a gradually evolving project so please don't be impatient. It will probably morph and change as it progresses so be prepared and don't let the stated boundaries deter you from contributing.
Suggestions and help are welcome.
There is a blog planned where people can register and communicate their information, memories, or questions.
